Jewelry Care

Keep Every Piece Looking Its Best

Whether it's moissanite or lab-grown diamond, a little care keeps your jewelry brilliant for a lifetime. Here's how to protect it.

Daily Wear

Take off rings and earrings before swimming, showering, exercising, or applying lotion, perfume, or hairspray. Chemicals and impact can dull the stone or weaken the setting over time.

Cleaning At Home

Soak in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for 20-30 minutes, then gently brush with a soft toothbrush around the setting. Rinse well and dry with a lint-free cloth. Clean every 1-2 weeks for pieces worn daily.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Never use chlorine, bleach, or ultrasonic cleaners at home, they can loosen prongs or damage certain metals and settings over time.

Storage

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratching. Diamonds and moissanite are hard enough to scratch other jewelry and even each other.

Check The Setting

Have your prongs and setting inspected once a year, loose stones are the most common (and most preventable) cause of lost diamonds.

Professional Cleaning

For a deeper clean and a full inspection, bring your piece in (or mail it to us) once a year. It's free with any Grauv purchase.
